Awards and Honors
In 2024, our paper, titled “A Comprehensive Review of Graphitic Carbon Nitride (g-C₃N₄)–Metal Oxide-Based Nanocomposites: Potential for Photocatalysis and Sensing,” received the Best Paper Award in 2024 in the Nanomaterials journal. This review delves into the synthesis, modification, and properties of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C₃N₄) and its nanocomposites with metal oxides like TiO₂, ZnO, and Fe₂O₃. It highlights their enhanced photocatalytic performance and potential in sensing applications, emphasizing light harvesting and catalytic efficiency advances. link
Our paper entitled 'A critical review of bioceramics for magnetic hyperthermia' was among the top-cited papers in the American Ceramic Society Journal for 2022-2023
In 2022, our paper entitled 'Glass-ceramics in dentistry: Fundamentals, technologies, experimental techniques, applications, and open issues' was recognized as a featured publication at Penn State University. This recognition highlights the impact and relevance of our study in materials science and its contribution to advancing knowledge in ceramic and nanomaterial technologies.
In 2022, I hold certifications in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Biosafety Awareness, and Compressed Gas Cylinder Safety.
In 2022, I was awarded the University of Victoria Graduate Entrance Scholarship.
In 2021, I was honored to receive the Ghanimat Azhdary Memorial Scholarship from the University of Guelph.
"We tragically lost our beloved colleague, Ghanimat Azhdari, on flight 752 as it left Tehran on January 8, 2020. Ghanimat began her Ph.D. studies at the University of Guelph with Dr. Faisal Moola in biocultural conservation in September 2019. She was a student researcher with the Conservation through Reconciliation Partnership and was a much respected emerging young scholar. Ghanimat was a proud member of the Qashqai tribe in Iran and a powerful and passionate young leader, at the international level, in advancing the rights of Indigenous Peoples. She was a founding member of UNINOMAD, a civil society organization that represented Iran’s Nomadic and Tribal Peoples and helped negotiate International conservation agreements that advanced Indigenous biocultural knowledge as part of the Conservation on Biological Diversity policy processes."
